There are so many accomplishments in my life that I couldn’t be more proud of. But becoming a mother is in a whole other category. It has been my greatest toughest accomplishment that blows my mind everyday. I mean I grew a human, thought I was going to die from the pain of having this human and now they are full on little people. There are really no words to fully describe the joy and love I feel for these little people. Their abilities are incredible. Their innocence makes me want to cry. To witness them discover something for the first time, is an indescribable feeling.
I love my children more than anything in this world. They are my flesh and blood and like any mama, I would hurt anyone that hurts them. I’d even go to jail for it. My husband and I have this worked out, don’t worry 😉
But do you ever look at your child when they are just sitting there crying for no reason and think, “I don’t think I’m going to survive this.”
With all that said, they drive us Fuc…… crazy. It’s like they have this need to completely drain every ounce of energy you have. The moment you open your mouth to talk to your significant other, there they are all, “mama, daddy, mama, daddy.” Being a parent is a beautiful but insane role.
You know you’re a parent when:
You can’t remember the last time you tasted your food because inhaling your food is the only way to ensure you feed yourself.
You can’t complete a full sentence without saying, “yes hunny what do you need”
You can’t remember the last time you pooped in peace. (Yes I went there, I am not scared)
You can sing all the songs to the movie Moana, Frozen or Trolls.
Your anxiety peaks because something got in the way of your bedtime routine.
You have a sock, diaper, pacifier or teething toy in your purse.
You take pride in making a delicious breakfast for your little humans. You think, “man they are going to enjoy this whole meal, I put all this deliciousness on their plate.” Then two seconds after they sit down they say, “I’M DONE!”
You give them four frozen yogurt pouches just to get some peace.
You try to out smart the situation and feed the kids dinner first. You know, that way you can enjoy your dinner. But they out smart you and take over the dinner anyway.
You bribe them with fruit snacks or popsicles to take a nap.
You can’t remember the last time you slept a full night in your own bed.
You are so tired you don’t know how you are able to function.
You wake yourself up at 4:10a to get some time to yourself and do some yoga and all you hear is, “mama what are you doing, mama why are your legs up in the air, mama why are you breathing so hard, mama why did the music stop…” And all you’re thinking is “WHY THE F… ARE YOU AWAKE RIGHT NOW?”
It can be so overwhelming being a parent. But at the end of the day, it is all worth it.
Please share your, “You know you’re a parent when…..” This could get fun!
