Quick Method to Pickling Onions

Super quick method to pickling onions right before dinner is done.

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes


  • 1 Whole Red Onion
  • ½ cup Filtered Water
  • ½ cup Distilled White Vinegar
  • ½ cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 ½ tbsp Maple Syrup or Honey
  • 1 tsp Salt


  1. First, slice that mutha f-ing onion super thin. Remember y'all, you want it thin. And pack these bad boys in a mason jar, wreck jar or whatever other jar that tickles your fancy.

  2. Add all your ingredients except the onion to a small sauce pan and bring to a quick boil.

    ***If you are using honey, do not add honey until mixture has been brought to a boil and then slightly cooled.

  3. Pour liquid mixture over your onions. Allow to sit on counter for about 30 minutes.

    That's it yo!

  4. Use on burgers, salads, in tuna, in your breakfast potatoes, on sandwiches. Seriously, anything that you want to add a little more spunk to.

  5. ***These onions will keep for 2-3 weeks in the fridge. They will also develop even more flavor as they sit in the refrigerator.
